Joint Injections

Joint injections are provided to help manage a range of conditions including arthritis and gout.

A joint injection may be suggested as a treatment option if deemed appropriate after a trial of medication and physical therapy.

The injection comprises of a steroid and sometimes it is combined with a local anaesthetic.

This procedure is carried out using a sterile aseptic technique.

There may be a delay between administering the injection and the response in terms of reduction in symptoms.

This treatment may be repeated at specific intervals.
